Today, most of politic parties seem unanimous to highlight assimilation as a solution, the only solution, to solve the problem of extra-European immigration.
Very well. But what about the facts of this providential assimilation? Some recent “incidents” – according to the prudish term used by authorities and the medias – bring us some elements of the answer.
Criminal court of Lyon, 19 December 2006: Within a Muslim family, a young girl of 18 years old, Bouthaïna, was beaten and shorned by her brother Hani and her Father Amor. Here is the testimony of the young girl: “My mother assisted to the scene insulting me. They reproached me to date a French” (what a nice example of anti-Gaul racism… What does SOS Racisme think about it? SOS Racisme doesn’t think anything about it… Because anti-Gaul racism is not racism). Proud of himself and affirming he had no remorse, the brother declared “I recognize having shorned her. I confess everything: the beating, the insults and even the spits.” This humanist has been sentenced to 12 months of jail, of which 8 months are suspended sentence. His father got a suspended sentence of 8 months of jail. It is not an expensive price, and they will be able to rejoice themselves in their neighborhood. Concerning the young girl, she better goes to live very far away from there…
La Mulatière (Rhône-Alpes), 22 December 2006: A bus is burning. Passengers hardly had the time to exit before being caught by the fire. “Youths” put fire “to do like in Marseille“, “to be on TV”. If they ever go on trial, there will be lawyers, judges, journalists to estimate that after all it was only a game. Sure, may be a little excessive? But it is certainly explained by the fact that this “youths” are, in truth, victims of the society. A “LePenising society”, of course.
Court of Villefranche (Rhone-Alpes), 16 January 2007: An affair of large scale traffic of cannabis is judged. The people concerned are named Aïssa, Mohamed, Faysal, Khaled and Abdelmadjid.
Meaux (Ile-de-France): at the Albert-Camus school, 12 years old Carl dies after being beaten several times by a boy and an 11 years old girl named Seta. Carl was Gaul. The 2 aggressors have Malian origins (90% of the pupils are blacks or Maghrebians). Meaux’s prosecutor instantly assured that the cause of Carl’s death was a cardiac malformation, that it was just an “ordinary fight”, and that the aggressors were “very shocked”. “It was just a game (…) There was no will to hurt” assures Seta’s older sister, who describe her as “a laughing, pleasant, jovial child”. And, as a good Muslim, she ads: “This drama, it’s destiny. It was written”. As for the lawyer of the 2 aggressors, she declares that “in this school, fighting is a game, it’s normal”. In other words, it’s not a big deal, isn’t it?
Criminal court of Paris, 24 January 2007: already sentenced 4 times for violence, Fouad BEN MOUSSA was sentenced to 6 months of jail because he insulted and assaulted a gynecologist, who he accused of “impudic gestures” toward his wife. In fact the latter, who had just given birth, was receiving from the doctor the medical care she needed. Medical staff are constantly confronted to very aggressive individuals who refuse that male doctors take care of their wife, mother, sister, daughter, claiming prohibitions linked to the Islamic traditions. But of course, the director of legal affairs of the hospitals of Paris thought it was good to insist on the fact that this affair had no religious connotation, and that “any amalgam would be extremely dangerous”. Yeah right… Naivety brought at that level is becoming criminal.
The people who boast us the benefits of assimilation do not want to admit that assimilation can only work with people having the same civilization pedestal of the population of the country in which they have immigrated. An Italian, a Spanish, a German assimile themselves with no issues in France, as a French assimile himself with no issues in Italy, Spain, or Germany. But the people related to the above mentioned “incidents” do not feel concerned with our civilization’s values. Either they want to remain faithfull to the values of their civilization of origin, and this is a choice we respect – at the condition, of course, that they go back to live those values in the land which is their cradle, the original land of their family. Either, extirpated, they invent a neotribalization which serves them as a criterion and as a shelter, but therefore positioning themselves against our civilization’s values, which is for us unacceptable. They are moreover well aware that by positioning themselves as destructor of our physic and mental universe, they choose to affirm themselves as our enemies. We should get the conclusions that impose themselves.

“any amalgam would be extremely dangerous”
Well, yes, it could well be. For the Gauls who say that there is a connection between an ideology and a behaviour. Such things are ‘incorrect’ to say and as we have seen, even the most considered and balanced comments (say in an academic speech in a university) can enrage some people to such a level that people are murdered. It’s not naivete, it’s cowardice/fear.
I have only just found your site and am delighted to find such a site coming from France. Perhaps there’s hope yet. I’ll put you on the blogroll at Mr Smith’s Refusal and see about getting you added to ATW’s blogroll.

I don’t know how it is in France, but in Germany the Turkish workers who were brought in all those years ago were definitely NOT accepted by the Germans. They were not granted citizenship. Even if their children were born in Germany, they were not citizens.
Meanwhile, the EU is working hard in its bureaucratic factory in Brussels to make sure that borders dissolve and countries lose their sense of sovereignty.
America, too, is reaching a crisis now because a country, even a large one, can assimilate only so many people before it becomes chaotic. And when the mindless “Pollitically Correct” educators insist that immigrants not learn English and not be integrated into American culture, the result is what we have on our southwestern borders. We, too, are losing our sovereignty — and George Bush is leading the chorus who sing for amnesty for millions of illegal, illiterate and unasimilated aliens. I have lost my respect for him on that score (and many other domestic policies).

Hi Dymphna,
I concur. Bush, because of his ignorance and refusal to learn about Islam, is dooming America. The only candidate with a chance who actually ‘reads to understand’ is Romney.

I suspect the real root of these problems (which seem to be occuring with regularity across the globe) is the constant increase in population, leading to immigration (mass migration?) and overcrowding in our cities, and a clash of cultures. We point our fingers, blaming others for our problems, when we are all just part of the problem. Furthermore, when westerners live in the Muslim world, do they assimilate themselves to the culture? Would you assimilate yourself to the Muslim world or simply build a little bastion of Europe/U.S./etc.?
I do not deny the difference in cultures, nor do I approve of many customs common to the Muslim world (the subjugation of women, for example), but I doubt anyone can actively change those customs– it is up to those within the culture to slowly change it from within over many generations. The more someone outside the culture tries to change it, the more those within the culture resist outside influence.

Thank you for finding me. When I am much better/more well than I am now, I will add you to my blogroll. “We” are not the problem. The problem is people invading our nations and demanding that we change our culture to theirs. As Dymphna says well, it is our very own President Bush who is leading the United States of America into a state of confusion and the dissolution of our borders, our sovereignty, our national cohesion.
The Qur’an tells Muslims to avoid lands that are hostile to them – so why the large mosque in Katy, Texas? Oh, I know, Katy, Texas is the bastion of Islamic Imperialism in the West.
Glad to find you. You know, one can have tolerance shoved down one’s throat only so long before one must rise up to ensure the salvation of his culture.

This subject leaves me sick. Assimilation has been KEY here in the US for centuries, and the current disfavor of it as somehow a cruel imposition is absurd. I wouldn’t exist if it were not for assimilation and a family so willing to take on American ways so thoroughly. Imagine it! People like me are the face of assimilation, people whose ancestry is on one side American back to before the Revolution yet Greek on the other, and Greeks admittedly being a rather not assimilation-receptive people. But my Great-Great Grandmother threw off Orthodoxy in favor of the new politics of American Suffragettes and sent all 5 of her daughters to UC Berkeley, all before 1920 and true suffrage, because she had the FREEDOM here to choose these beliefs. My Dad married a non-Greek bride and spoke no Greek, instead being culturally as American as could be. I wouldn’t exist at all if not for these moves culturally, if not geographically.
I offer my own ancestral story only as example because it does represent the true success of parents who wanted their children to live their own lives in their new cultures as members and not outsiders. And regardless of how we see Greeks as our cultural ancestors, trust me, Greeks from Constantinople in the 1880s saw the American West as rather less civilized than their own homeland. But they did it, as did millions of others, including large numbers of far East Asians in California as well who had no Western/Christian heritage.
They did it because they wanted their children to have lives worth living, not more marginilization, but also because the dominant Western culture here wouldn’t bend to them and allow for successful lives here without integration. “Multiculturalism” is an oxymoron. All cultures are built upon the mixing of the many cultures that are mashed together in an area as well as the outsiders they have contact with, but they are defined by a dominant differing “culture”, as nebulous as that concept is academically. Without accepting the dominant strain as the norm and the model to aspire to, nations are doomed. This is not racism nor “cultural erasure”, it is just the only answer with any historical precedence. All other courses lead to total disaster, civilizational suicide.
Sorry if that ran a bit long….

George W. Bush The president of the United States of America. Meaning he is elected by a vast majority of the US citizens in order to achieve that position. So any cut downs on him is not only direct against him but also against the aforementioned ‘vast’ majority of the American people. Instead of keep on looking solely on the negative achievment he made let’s look on the positive side for a change…He was the first to outline and confront Radical Islam’s inevitable danger to the western society as a whole. He is among the very few politicians who mean what they say and do it. In the domestic arena he also have created a new record of lowest unemployment rate ever in the US history. Since 9/11 the radicals islamists havent been able to succeed in stricking The Home Land, although few attempts were made… all failed.
France…I love that country. Just Chirac I dont fathom.
Best wishes to you all

We present our site
Have a look to
http://www.islam-documents.org
(which is the improvment of the other islam-documents.com, once based in Tunisia).
There is thousands of texts (around 20 000) about the origins of islam, with a critical, humanist, democratic and scientific view (and even ironical). It is now the bigger “sourcebook” on that subject, with often unpublished documents: Muhammad biographies (SIRA), the main books of traditions (HADITH) , muslim chronicles (TABARI…), companions biographies (TABAQAT), quranic verses, quranic commentaries (TAFSIR). It is sometimes funny, or stupid, ugly, frightening, but always interesting!
A new version is now available, improved and corrected: around 3700 pages. We are working for a new version published every year.
